Welcoming New Faculty – Kathy Golbarg Niknejad, MD

Please join us in welcoming Kathy Golbarg Niknejad, MD, as a new faculty member in the Department of Surgery.

Kathy Golbarg Niknejad, MD
Associate Surgeon, Division of Urology

Dr. Niknejad graduated from San Diego State University with a BS in biology. She received her medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed the Harvard Urologic Surgery Residency Program at the Brigham, where she was also a staff surgeon for five years.

Before returning to the Brigham, Dr. Niknejad worked at Atrius Health as the chief of Urology and was a member of the board of trustees. She also worked at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, where she was the medical director of Surgical Specialties for four years.

Dr. Niknejad is board certified in urology. She is a member of the American Urological Association (AUA) and the Society of Women in Urology (SWIU).

Dr. Niknejad’s clinical and research interests include kidney stones, benign prostatic hypertrophy, bladder cancer, prostate cancer, elevated PSA and active surveillance of prostate cancer, urinary incontinence, hematuria, recurrent urinary tract infections and overactive bladder.
