Please join us in welcoming Geoffrey Anderson, MD, MPH, as a new faculty member in the Department of Surgery.

Geoffrey Anderson, MD, MPH
Associate Surgeon, Division of Trauma, Burn and Surgical Critical Care

Dr. Anderson graduated from Duke University with a BS in biology and religion. He obtained an MPH at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and his medical degree from the Emory University School of Medicine. He completed a general surgery residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and a trauma and critical care fellowship at the University of Southern California Medical Center.

Dr. Anderson is board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care. He is a member of various professional societies, including the American College of Surgeons (ACS), the Excelsior Surgical Society and the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma (AAST).

He previously served in the Air Force as a flight surgeon and was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, where his main role was to evacuate casualties from the battlefield on rotary and fixed wing aircraft. He also assisted in the ER and OR during numerous mass casualty events and assisted with the H1N1 outbreak in Afghanistan.

Dr. Anderson’s clinical and research interests include global surgery, the social determinants of traumatic diseases, implementation science and surgical education.

Olga Kantor, MD, MS
Associate Surgeon, Division of Breast Surgery

Dr. Kantor graduated from Rice University with a BS in biochemistry and cell biology. She obtained an MS in public health sciences from the University of Chicago and her medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She completed a general surgery residency at the University of Chicago, a surgical oncology research fellowship at the NorthShore University HealthSystem and a breast surgical oncology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

She is board certified in general surgery. She is a member of various professional societies, including the American College of Surgeons (ACS), the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO) and the American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBrS).

Dr. Kantor’s clinical and research interests include clinical trials, surgical management after neoadjuvant therapy and tailoring treatments in patients with breast cancer. She also has a special interest in surgical education and will be taking on the role of associate program director for the breast surgical oncology fellowship.
